CLIMB SAFELY WITH A DURABLE CLIMBING ROPE

You absolutely need to have a high-quality climbing rope if you are a climber at any level or ability, whether it is the gym, on the crags or in the mountians. Modern rope fibres and manufacturing techniques ensure climbing ropes provide optimal safety.  A good rope is extremely durable with very high tensile strength to prevent excessive rope wear when coming into contact with rocks, belay and rappel devices, carabiners and quickdraws. In the event of a fall climbing ropes bing dynamic reduce the impact force on your body, whereas industry and work ropes are static, and have less stretch and bounce to make ascending and descending the rope more efficient.

Every climber and alpinist needs to have an excellent climbing rope because their life could depend on it.

DIFFERENT ROPES DEPENDING ON USE

There are many different types of climbing ropes to choose from.

Single ropes are the most used climbing ropes with a diameter between 9mm and 11mm used mainly for sport climbing.

Half ropes have a smaller diameter between 8mm to 9mm, making them a little lighter than single ropes and need to be used as a pair using half rope techniques that allow alternate clipping of the ropes. Half ropes also allow you split weigh t between your climbing partner and the ability to use the full length for an abseil.

Twin ropes, which are the thinnest of all ropes with a diameter varying between 7mm and 8mm, must be clipped as a pair. The light weight makes them ideal for climbs that require lightweight equipment.
