Diversity unique in Switzerland
The Einsiedeln Ski Club has been committed to promoting skiing in the region for more than 100 years. The fact that all Alpine and Nordic disciplines are combined in one club is unique in Switzerland. Today the Einsiedeln Ski Club has more than 400 members, making it one of the largest ski clubs in Switzerland.

Alpine
Alpine skiing is much more than just racing down the slopes. A wide variety of terrain, together with often changing ground conditions, require good technique, a lot of strength, courage and a good eye for the right line. These factors are practiced during free skiing in childhood before you begin focused pole training. There are currently three athletes in the ranks of the SCE who are training at the national performance center in Engelberg and are about to make the jump to the Swiss-Ski C squad. The Alpines train three times a week in winter and compete in around 20 races per year.

Cross-country skiing and biathlon
Cross-country skiing and biathlon are complex sports that require coordination, strength and endurance. In biathlon you also need a steady hand and a controlled pulse. To ensure that the racing group is fit in the winter, we start in August with a varied training session that includes jogging, roller skiing, ski walking and shooting. Even the littlest ones can try this sport. From January onwards, playful cross-country skiing will be offered four times on a Wednesday.

Ski jump
Who wouldn’t want to sail through the air like an eagle? Nothing is impossible, at SCE we teach ski jumping to interested children with training on the ski jumps, in the gym and in the imitation room at Einsiedeln Monastery.
Young and old athletes are always welcome. Our trained J+S leaders are happy to be able to pass on this sport.

Ski cross
Ski cross is action, man-to-man combat, jumps and pure excitement. This requires solid skiing technique, good fitness and a large amount of courage. With Gregor Fritsche, the SCE has a member of the Swiss-Ski A squad who takes part in World Cup and European Cup races.
Once a year the SCE holds two national ski cross races for adults in Hoch-Ybrig. But the little ones don’t miss out either. Every winter the SCE organizes a kids ski cross race.
