We offer free in-store and online video analysis for your running style and foot type. Don’t hesitate to ask us to video you and get our specialist fitting service in the shop, or send us the information by using our upload forms or by email.

PICK UP IN-STORE

If you can get to the center of Geneva in the Old Town, where you will find the easiest parking in the city right next to the store in the Cours des Bastions, you can try and exchange your order at our friendly store, (open 11 till 18:30 Monday to Saturday). You can even run up the street into the old town or into the Park des Bastions to try shoes with some real road running before you buy.

We use as much of the kit we sell as possible so we can tell you how it performs. We put write reviews and add ‘Our Verdict’ to the product pages. We also link to other independent magazine and website reviews.

For us it has been about being fast and light ever since our first interest in adventure sports, running, and cycling. Lighter meant faster, whether it was a light road bike, or lighter road racing flats for a 10k or half-marathon, or lighter bivi gear for an Alpine north face, lighter ski touring bindings, they were all key to going faster.

We’ve been involved in lots of creative outdoor sports and running projects in the mountains both personally and as a business. Individually, over the years, FAST AND LIGHT founders and employees have climbed new routes in the UK and the Alps, made early climbing and ski descent repeats in the Alps, won fell and trail races, organized events, written articles, created film and videos, started specialist magazines,and generally been fully engaged with snow, rock, ice and trails for a few decades…

Both Edyta and Tim, the main drivers behind FAST AND LIGHT, have been living, running, skiing, cycling and climbing in the Mont Blanc and Geneva region for several decades. For Tim, who back-in-the-day was an accomplished fell and trail runner with decent PBs on the road too, he has been obsessed with looking for the latest light weight gear to go faster in any of the sports he is passionate about, whether it was for ascents on the North Faces of the Eiger, Grand Jorasses or Matterhorn, expeditions to the Himalayas or winning at the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon (now known as the OMM), or getting to remote locations for photo and film shoots, the gear was an important factor in any successful trip.

Tim’s sport led him to become a professional photographer, focusing on mountain sports and skiing, and way back in 1991 he founded Fall-Line magazine which in 1993 became the first pan-European free ski and snowboard magazine. In 1993 he also organized the first free ride competition in Europe on the Brevent in Chamonix (won by Bruno Compagnet, one of the founders for Black Crow skis.

Moving on from Fall-Line, Tim went on to work with Tissot for Sport Sponsoring for the cycling World Cups and World Championships, but continued to shoot photography for the big sports catalogues several times a year for premium outdoor retailers such as Snow and Rock, Decathlon, Cotswold Outdoor and Blacks.

Edyta has been designing and selling her own clothing and outdoor clothing line since 2011, and with her two boys competing at alpine skiing, ski jumping and ice hockey she knows the importance of keeping fit to keep up with them both.

Our experience and enthusiasm for all things running an outdoor sports is carried over in to the FAST AND LIGHT brand. Long may it do so!
